The other moonlight paintings evoke the nineteenth centruy Romatic view of a nightscape. Giselle is a moonlight fantasy with the major characters of the ballet portrayed in the moonlit setting. The two paintings of the west are abstracted lanscapes of the brilliant and arid terrain of the North American far west.
