Originally I called this Rhythm Study 1 as I saw it as a beginning of a series of painting-collages-assemblages where the relationship of forms going across and receding in depth were the subject. Images or objects would of course have their meanings, but they were secondary. There would be a rhythmic or at least recognizable repetition of form and color.
